Break

I feel sick
I feel like throwing up

Must be the fumes from the jiffy markers

Fabulous Secret Powers

were revealed to me the day I held aloft my magic sword and said...

“By the Power of Grayskull...I have the POWER!”

Two on the phone sketches from work.

Itching to do She-Ra now.  Maybe even take some time.

燒雞翼,我鍾意食

BBQ chicken wings, I love to eat!

Inspired from a little jingle from Hong Kong cinema's Stephen Chow.
It all started as a ridiculous musical number from The Flirting Scholar and some how ended up in A Chinese Odyssey Part 2.  Chow plays the role of an poet / calligrapher / artist and the Monkey King respectively.

OH!
The Flirting Scholar also stars Gong Li.  You may recognise her as the queen from Curse of the Golden Flower and the token cougar from Miamic Vice.

Life Cycle

Here’s a sneak preview for my dad’s 60th birthday invite.  Obviously, he was born in the year of the rabbit.  How about some cultural background?

The Chinese zodiac consists of 12 animals and 5 elements.  Each animal rotates once a year and every 12 year cycle has an element (metal, wood, fire, water, earth).  A full life cycle would therefore be 60 years.

Very exciting.  ^_^

I have no idea what element my dad is.

Copper Coffee

I work downtown

I see a lot of homeless people. The ones who really are homeless with the long dirty hair, scraggly beard and shoes that don't match. Can’t catch a break, no help, and no hope.

I’m not talking about guy with the creepy grin and the same cardboard sign, with the same story, standing by the same road everyday with his hat out. I know he makes more money than me. I’m talking about the first guy.

I step into my Tim Horton’s in the morning to get my fix and I see a homeless man hanging around. He looks a little confused but is trying to blend in. Not asking for change or anything. Just hanging out. Maybe he was hoping for an unfinished bagel left on the table.

Two police constables walk in. Strong, fast, proud. There are times, I know, management calls in the force to remove the homeless. I took one look at them and shift my gaze because I’m already expecting a brutal ass kicking.

To my surprise, they approach him and start talking. They line up and I’m still looking out of the corner of my eye (cause I personally don't need an ass kicking either) and just waiting for something to happen.

They keep talking

And talking

No batons drawn, no gloves on

Still talking

Finally they’re at the cashier, and the two constable turns and asks him if he wanted a coffee.

!!!

Maybe there is still hope left in the world.

Optic Blast

Part deux of Cyclops

Colours and shadows rendered.

I feel pretty good with this, with exception of the inking.  It was drippy.  A little too drippy at times, but what do you expect dealing with a one eyed monster?

May the fourth be with you.
